Anne’s Alley
Fort Rosecrans Historic District, San Diego, CA
Anne’s Alley, located at the subbase is part of the Fort Rosecrans Historic District. the District is comprised of Buildings 154, 151, 149 and 146, and another 41 buildings. It was declared a California Registered Historical Landmark #62 on December 6, 1932. RBF Consulting was responsible for managing and providing engineering services for detailed building elevations associated with the potential demolition or repair of four historic duplex buildings. The building evaluation included a complete listing of all engineering and architectural requirements, schedules and cost estimates. Subsequent to the survey, concept plans were developed for the renovation as well as final plans, specifications and estimates.
Heritage Architecture & Planning acted as the historical architectural consultant and provided a complete study to meet the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 process for the U.S. Navy. The project included construction documents and observation services for the renovation of the buildings.
The buildings were designed at the Bureau of Docks and Yard located on the East Coast. Building materials were shipped from the east to California creating a unique group of buildings on the West Coast.
